Solar Site Criteria & How It Works

A broader definition of solar farms could include other ground-mounted solar arrays large enough to supply power for many households. This general solar farm concept could be associated with both residential community solar and larger utility-scale solar. But here are the differences:

Community Solar

(usually 100 kW-5 MW) sell their electricity to utilities to reduce the electricity bills of subscribers.

Utility-Scale Solar

(generally 1 MW-2,000 MW) sell their electricity to profit from their owner.

Agrivoltaics

Uses the same area of land to produce more food while also rolling out more sources of renewable energy.
